Experiment Failed.
Orphaned packages, and maintainers resigning. The dunk tank, as a improved project has FAILED.

I'm not sure either of those things indicate failure.

Dunk tank project target was to get Etch on time, If you get people orphaning packages and get maintainer resigning, and you add projects as Dunk Bank that has as target to delay Etch, I really can assert it.

If and when the release is delayed, I'll concede you have a point. But maintainers resigning and orphaning packages is a natural process. If it's because they disagree with the GR, then it's better they do this now than to have MIA maintainers and silo packages.

Of course!!! I disagree a lot with the GR, and I'll work for dunc-bank project don't break Debian! But I'll do this to get a better Debian, not for delay it.

But I'm unsure that in this case this is a natural process. Benjamin Drieu, Tomas Schepf, Aurelien, Josselin, Denis Barbier... It's a coincidence? I'm sure it's not a coincidence. If you read debian-devel /debian-private, you find for its motivation.

First, it's 'Dunc-Tank', not 'Dunk-Bank'. Second, be careful with your language; a slightly prejudiced interpretation of your words could be that the opponents of the Dunc-Tank are orphaning the packages now *deliberately* to delay Etch. Which is of course not true, as the orphaning and resignations are simply an by-product of the whole situation.

The "dunc-bank" project he refers to is correct: It is a tongue-in-cheek project founded post dunc-tank with the express task of delaying etch. See http://dunc-bank.zoy.org/
